Suspension Savior Kickback Killer

Pedal kickback and its knock-on effects dramatically reduce suspension performance, even though you might not feel it happening. This is why e*thirteen developed Sidekick.

Sidekick eliminates the forces of pedal kickback and chain vibration at their source by disconnecting the drivetrain from suspension, creating a deadband area where the chain is isolated.

With the pawls disengaged during coasting, so that kickback and chain slap are essentially eliminated, Sidekick wheels are whisper-quiet. Providing a more immersive riding experience, where the only sounds you hear are your tires on the trail.

Efficient and predictable suspension means better traction and more control on every full suspension mountain bike.

Note: Only Available in North America. Limited stock available, while supplies last.

N+1 Performance

Sidekick is equally at home on long-travel Enduro bikes, as on shorter-travel Trail bikes, and Class 1 e-bikes.

No need to change rear shock compression or rebound tunes, just enjoy more active suspension while braking, and the feeling of extra rear travel.

Adjustable, adaptable

You can choose the amount of deadstroke in Sidekick hubs. Between 12°, 15° and 18°, you can fine tune for personal preference, bike kinematics and even the terrain you’re riding.

Thanks to the threaded end-caps, you can switch between the three engagement options tool-free.

Limited Quantities, endless possibilities

Available exclusively on 30|HD Wheelsets, these Sidekick Wheels are a limited-edition run.

That means when they're gone, they're gone for good.

Pedal kickback alternatives? Crank-Based systems

Crank-based solutions attempt to address pedal kickback without disconnecting the drivetrain.

This means that in order to fight kickback and chain vibration, those forces still need to occur for the crank-based solutions to function.

Sidekick eliminates these forces from the start by disconnecting the drivetrain from suspension.
